Robertsbridge has been a working village for hundreds of years but despite the loss in the last twenty five years of two major employers, the Saw Mill and Scats, local employment is still very important to sustaining our balanced community.
Quite apart from the High Street shops of which we still have a great variety, and our pubs and restaurants, we have major employers like the Community College and the world-famous cricket bat maker, Gray Nicholls.
As well as these names we have over one hundred full and part time businesses, some operating from home, some from converted farm units. The Neighbourhood Plan aims to foster these, and attract future businesses, to make Robertsbridge and Salehurst a truly sustainable community.
There will be three surveys to establish the current health and future needs of locally based businesses.
The five largest commercial landlords in the area have been asked to fill in this survey. However any landlord who would like to contribute their information is welcome. Landlord survey.

The six largest employers in the parish have been asked to fill in this survey. However any business owner who would like to contribute their information is welcome. Business owner survey.
